Tandoori Chicken Spears

1/2 cup plain lowfat yogurt
2-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled
2 clove garlic
2 tsp paprika
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp ground turmeric
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
4 skinless, boneless chicken breasts
1 bottle top-quality mango chutney
1 bunch fresh cilantro
Soak your skewers in a shallow bowl of water.
To make the marinade: Ina blender or food processor, puree the yogurt, ginger, garlic, paprika, cumin, turmeric, and cayenne. Set the marinade aside.
Slice the chicken into strips. and season with salt & pepper. Pour marinade over chicken and mix well. Marinate in refrigerator for 3 hours preferably, minimum of 30 minutes.
Preheat the broiler in the oven & adjust the rack so that it is about 4" from the heating element.
After chicken has marinated, thread the chicken strips onto the soaked skewers, spreading it out on each skewer so that the chicken is flat.
Broil chicken on a foiled lined baking sheet for 8-10 minutes, or until cooked through. Serve spears on a nice platter, along with pita chips, sprinkled with chopped fresh cilantro , & a bowl of mango chutney. Enjoy!
